If it's the original radio fitted to the car when 1st sold, any Peugeot dealer should be able to help you. Give them the reg number or serial number and they will give you the original radio code.
Go on, that's a dealer freebie! ;-)

not really true, yes any dealer can get it for you but they have to pay for it also so pass the charge onto you. last time i got one it was £20

Hmm, strange: 1) happened to me twice with the 406s; once when the dealer disconnected the battery during service and another time when I disconnected it. On both occasions the radio prompted for the code and I did not have it. I went to my Peugeot dealer and they simply typed the reg number on a computer and the code was there at hand. I paid nothing for the privilege... 2) also happened after I (again!) disconnected the battery off my wife's Renault Laguna. We'd bought the car privately and were never given the radio code. Again, I went to the local Renault dealer, gave them the car reg number and was provided with the code at any charge whatsoever.
Can't believe you paid £20 for that if it were an original radio fitted at factory.

i work for a dealer and we have to pay for it, so the cost has to be pasted on im affraid. if it is the selling dealer you go to they should already have it so wouldnt of cost you a thing.

if it is the selling dealer you go to they should already have it so wouldnt of cost you a thing. It was the case for my 1st 406 only, not for the 2nd nor my wife's Laguna. If what you say is a general attitude: shame on the dealer, that IS a scam!
