Peugeot 205 side indicator amber light has blown its bulb.
The haynes manual says
"On early models, reach up behind the front wing, squeeze the plastic tabs together and push out the light. On later models, turn the light anti-clockwise and withdraw it from the front wing"
its listed as fairly easy but I just can't see how to get inside the wing. I've looked under the bonnet and under the wheel arch but I can't seem to get near the amber indicator light on the side of the car.
Anyone know, remember how to do this? Or am I meant to be unbolting things first to get at the back of the light? Thanks.

Don't know about 205, but the space between the inner and outer wings, from the wheel arch to the 'A' post is not accessible on most cars, so this is not clever design. Usually the indicator repeater light is a tight fit in the wing and just pulls out. It would be crazy to remove the wing just to change a bulb. Assuming you have the early model, and since no one here has come up with a special technique, I would first get a replacement light unit, then after disconnecting the battery, carefully cut off the old one, fish out the wiring plug and fit the replacement. If you remove the lugs from the replacement and stick it in place with mastic you can easily replace bulbs in the future.

i take it were on about side repeters in the wings?? if so the early ones you move the lamp forwards and pull it out, on later sqaure ones you just turn the lamp and pull it out. really easy.
