Shes Dead :( - Update with pics of new car...

Well last weekend, Saturday night to be precise at approximatly 10.00pm our Peugeot 405 Most likley died at the side of the road on the A40 just past Andoversford traffic lights

Dean lifted bonnet to find the auxilery belt had frayed wrapping its self round something sounding bad

I then proceeded to call the police as with 2 young children in the car and me being pregnant we couldnt stay in the cold and on the main road for long.
Along came the police in a huge van, and told Dean to roll her back to the layby which he did then they gave us a lift home. (But by god are those vans high off the ground, flipping heck if anyones preg here i suggest you dont try lol)

The next day Dean managed to get a tow home from a neighbour and on closer inspection Dean recons shes dead
You can turn the key but to no avail she tries to tick over but just doesnt start.
The night she broke down he tried to re start her and thudd thudd thudd a few times so maybe thats something to do with it!!

Well the weekend before we bought a caravan so being strapped for cash we bought a cheap Peugeot of ebay!!

You want to see pictures... OK go on then but remember it is a car and living where we live no frequent buses etc.. especially with out son's operation on Tuesday coming we needed a car reguardless of looks.... ok here we gooooo.....









By the way if anyone knows what this crap ball rally is - tell us lol

Very sorry to hear about the demise of your car. I'm glad you all got home OK though.

Your new 405 made me smile. Maybe the spoiler is a bit OTT but hey there are enough boring cars in the world.

Like 104ZS, sad to hear of the demise of the old car,but the new one put a smile on my face. Reminded me of a rainbow coloured 505 that i saw on ebay a few months ago.

I think that I shall take your experience as a warning to change the alternator belt on my car that is currently looking worse for wear before it breaks and does similar damage to my car.

When I googled Crap Ball I found a few You tube videos of it. It appears to be some sort of garishly modified bangers gathering at the Nurburgring.

She died as we picked up hospital kit !! tut tut
Something with the clutch, so shes been scrapped - we took the spoiler off within a week of having her tho, we too thought it was OTT!

She did us well for the few months we had her - she was a car, and we needed a car upgrade to haveing a new baby too - so she forced us into action, altho catching 2 buses and 2 trains to get the new car whilst about ready to pop was a nightmare lol- hense 5 days later out she came hehe (the baby!) lol
