Hello All, As luck would have it I need to replace the front ARB bushings on our 1992 205 GL (1.1 TU1 engine). However, all local motor factors insist on trying to supply ARB links and I keep trying to explain to them that the bar on this Peugeot connects directly to the lower suspension arm. Can anyone please tell me the part numbers I need to effect this repair? Surely this suspension system isn't as "unique" as my local motor factor employees would have me believe Thanks.

Youre going to the wrong place. Both the bushes that go into the lower track control arm and the ones that go around the bar at the front are available from Peugeot. The ones they are trying to sell you are fitted to a GTI. Just go down to your local dealer and they have the info on their parts systems. If you want the ones that wrap around the bar they will need to know the diameter of the bar. I think it should be 20mm for your car but there are some 22mm. The bushes that go into the TCA are all the same . If you want any more help email us on parts@clubpeugeotuk.org. Hope this helps.

Perfect. Thanks. And just 'cause I hate not knowing stuff, is TCA (Torsion Control Arm???) the lower suspension arm and is it also sometimes referred to as a wishbone, even in this configuration (i.e. only one inner connection point)?

Sorry I was going back to a previous life I had before Peugeot! I know it as track control arm which is the lower suspension arm you are referring to. If you have any problems let me know.

I'm all sorted now (I think), thanks. I've got the part numbers for both QH and FristLine so I'll head back to the factors just to prove a point You're spot on about the diameter of the roll bar, 20mm + about 0.35 for ancillary rust and deposits! Is there any way to service the ball joint on the TCA? Seems like and expensive way to to go about it (and I say that as a LR Discovery 2 owner).

So, to complete this thread I have another question Having sourced all the correct components with the excellent help here I have completed the work to the satisfaction of the Irish version of the MOT. The control arm (wishbone) bushes were a relative doddle despite 20-odd years of grime and rust but the two bushes that go around the front ARB were a nightmare! No problems removing the nuts holding the brackets but then I find that you can't remove the brackets fully because there is not enough clearance from the bodywork. Much cursing and sweating ensued as I man-handled the old bushes out and literally whacked the new ones in. Then the use of a woodworking clamp to pull the brackets back down far enough to get the nuts back on. So I ask the question: Did I miss the incredibly easy way to do this, or did peugeot really design it so that lowering the from assembly is the only way to remove these brackets fully?
