Hi im new to this site as you can gather ive got a 207 gti but having a few problems with it ,ive got a low vibration through the steering at about 60mph onwards ,ive replaced a rear alloy as it was cracked and had new tyres allround and balanced up properly ,car wasnt doing this before it only started the other night ,the only thing that i think it may be is the other rear alloy is buckled so could that be whats causing this vibration ?,was just wondering if anyone else has any ideas i know this model has problems aslong as your arm so help would be mint .thanks

If it's had an impact sufficient to crack an alloy, then it's likely one of the front alloys is bent.
Just because it was apparently balanced up properly a few days ago, doesn't mean it is today.
Get it off the road, get it checked. Get the wheels properly inspected for damage/being knock out of round or eccentrically bent, and then for wheel balance. You can also get faulty tyres that won't balance up properly no matter what you do, though this is rare. Also check that the mating face between the wheel and the hub is surgically clean, as in resembling the blade of one of your knives from your dinner service. The slightest contamination of a few microns can be sufficient to cause the wheel to sit incorrectly on the hub and cause vibration. Even the particles in copper grease can be sufficient to do this.
