Last year the garage threatened my 306 might fail the MOT soon because of rust around the sunroof being within the specified distance of the top seatbelt mounting! So this year I went to another garage who said nothing about the rust around the sunroof but failed the front indicator under the section that says "not working"! It only had the outer clear lens missing! The internal reflective surfaces were OK. They also failed a rear wheel bearing and said the other was noisy. Unbelievable because there was no noise at all! The tester spun the wheel by hand when off the ground! I am certain that if bad I would have heard it on the motorway. I showed him the smooth bearing races and rollers afterwards. He was dismissive and said you can't tell by inspection! I considered the bearing had many years life left. Anyway they don't fail suddenly. Perhaps they felt guilty because they didn't charge for the retest!
