Hi all, ever since the cold weather hit us my pug 205 1.6 Auto mardi gras takes considerably longer to start. It used to start with turn of the key straight away and still does only when warm? What could the problem be? I fitted new plugs and leads at the end of summer. When starting from cold it sounds as if the battery has no power to turn over the starter but had the battery tested using a battery/alt tester but all ok there. When cold it must take about anywhere between 6-9 turn overs before it starts. Thanks, James.

I presume you have refreshed the battery connections - it's surprising how much difference that can make.

Hi,
Check that the Distributor cap is intact, a small crack could cause damp to get in, making initial starting a problem.
Always a good place to start.
