Hi guys, New to the forum, so go easy...! The wife has just bought an old 206 GTI (1999 reg i believe), went out with her dad to view and purchase. Car has done 98,000 miles, apparently has a full service history, cambelt done 20,000 miles ago. I gave it a test run last night and get the feeling something is amiss..... Seems to have a very high bite point on the clutch, and the car just doesnt have the "Zip" i would have expected for a 2.0 GTI. If the clutch is going, would that make the car feel sluggish? (i used to own a 1.6gti 106 which seemed much quicker). It's not the speed i'm after, i just want to make sure there is nothing going on with the car, as my wife will be driving it (i have my own car). We've owned several peugeots previously and had engine/electrical problems with all of them. Bear in mind, i'm not at all mechanically minded

Hi, it depends on how slugish you think it is, as the 206 gti is no rocket ship. The were slow when they was new
