Hi. Basically I'm wanting to know where all of the vacuum pipes are supposed to go on my manifold.
It's a 1975 (n reg) 304 1288cc XL3S engine with a Solex EEISA carb and Ducellier M75 distributor (no vacuum capsule).
There is a large spout on the rear of the manifold, a small spout underneath and then another drilling with a tiny hole into the manifold on number 4 cylinder (nearest timing casing)
Cheers!

Its a long time since I was under the bonnet of a 304 Dave! I`m just thinking large spout to air filter or intake trunking (normal breather) small spout for distributor vac pipe (but in your case a blank pipe). The small drilling has got me?? I can remember these old carb` engines having a very small hole just to get rid of any excess fuel when switching off.??

Here's the pictures of it. Shouldn't the vacuum take off be on the carb though for the dizzy? Otherwise it'll be creating vacuum when the throttle is closed and not when the pedal is to the metal as it were. You might be right about the big spout going to the breather now you mention it. I'll have to dig out the air intake stuff out of the loft and have a look. You can see the drilling in the manifold though from the picture. there is like a jet down the hole about 1mm diameter. I've got 3 of these manifolds in the garage and they're all the same! Weird! Attachments:

Yes I`m sure, large connection by carb`is a normal breather pipe going to the air filter box or inlet trunking. The small connection under the manifold is for the distributor vac pipe. The hole is excess fuel leak off.The connection on the left of the manifold is for the brake servo vac pipe.

Super. Never known a fuel leak off system like that before! Live and learn!
