Hi all newto the forum and need help
My next door neighbour asked me if I could weld the driver seat cross menber which I did, the 50 watt halogen lamp I use to see to start the arc slipped and melted the two plug under the drivers seat looking at them they seem to have no connections wires out just the plug that goes into them a plate which fits under the springs of the cushion with no electrical connection .
I tried to turn the passenger side seat belt off but it cracked an broke
on turning the ignition on and starting the engine the airbags did not pop, but the air bag light flashes, I linked the pins in the brown plug together and same with the yellow plugs. As far as I can see from the burnt connector on the seat frame they appear not to have an onward connection but be connected as a link in and out. there is also a plastic plate under the cushion but has no electrical connection . Can any one tell me of the brown and yellow plugs are just link in and out and if I replace the broken passenger on off switch will the light sytop flashing or will I need to re set it via the diagnostic port?
Cheers Graham

Hi all got it wrong the brown piug goes to the seat belt tenisioner which leaves a yellow and blue are these for the air bag too? If the all the connections from o/s are good and the passenger switch works should the airbag light stop flashing or do I need to reset it from the diagnostic port, I am not a Peugeot person, Vauxhall, Roll Royce and Ferrari 512 are my pets I would never by another Vauxhall any electrical issues you need a TEC 2 or it is a main dealer job. Just had to put my VX in cranks but won't start, scanner says flash eprom but the code is key not handshaking with ecu it only done 30k and both faults were major fuel pump VP44 £2300.00 and I am waiting to see the cost this time its 9 years old if its a scrapper after driving this 406 I would not think twice about buying a Peugeot

Hi all
on the drivers seat there are two connections on the 406 diesel estate 2000 W plate a thick red which goes to the seat belt an a blue two pin connector which is linked out in the socket and a yellow plug that has no connection, my issue was I did not realise the key turned the n/s air bag off and I used a screwdriver and busted the switch got the bits from a scrappy and no airbag light
