Hi Dave, I have seen these, many many years ago....The ad says 1978 on? and he then adds not all models? and yours is a 1975. I think you will never know until you try to fit them. Are your shocks OK?? you know the saying Dave, "Don`t fix what aint broke".

Yeah, I know. The shockers are fine I think with SAE 10 jack oil in them instead of the unavailable shocker oil, although I haven't test driven its performance. But I'm going to strip them down to powder coat the spring and arm. I was thinking of fitting inserts then. Also, I don't suppose you have the tool to remove the discs do you so that I can powder coat the stub axle as well?
I'm also on the cadge again if poss Mike for your socket to remove the ball joints if it's available. The front shockers are the last mechanical reconning I need to do. Fingers crossed, it'll finally be done by the end of the year.
Only taken four years to do!

I have nothing to remove the discs. From what I remember (30yrs ago!!)you can hammer (very sensibly)the wheel flange/disc out of the bearing in the strut. You then can get to the bolts that hold the disc the the wheel flange. The most important thing is to find a punch that will fit into the wheel flange and will not damage the drive shaft splines when you are hammering. If you want my ball joint kit send me an e-mail.

Great! I reckon a 27mm socket or similar will work. I'm concentrating on the interior at the minute so it won't be for a while. Just got my new carpets tailor made and rebuilt the seats with powder coated frames. Looks good! I'll email you closer the time regarding the ball joint kit.
Many thanks Mike! Appreciated!

Hi Dave,
If you do decide to go with the upgrade, those sort of shocks are what I fitted, although I fitted the KYB ones listed as fitting my cab (73). Though I would second Mikes "If it ain't broke...." attitude, but I suspect I'm less of a perfectionist than you.

KYB are a good make Doug. OE spec anyway. I reckon 90% of the springs and shockers I fit at work are made by them. I'll leave it till I've stripped them down and decide then. I do want to keep it original but with subtle modifications. To slip into anorak mode for a moment, my mods are fiting hazard warnings, Michelin 165/70 R14 tyres with peugeot optional extra wheel trims, full stainless steel exhaust with twin tail pipes, original twist and tune radio with ipod input socket, 70's motolita steering wheel, tailored wool carpets in front and rear and yellow headlamp bulbs.
Just need to put it all together! One day I'll finish it!

Well that's £700 spent on the front legs! Powder coated, discs, bearings, ball joints etc!
Ouch!
