First time posting here, and sad to tell it may be one of my last...
I've got a 1990 Peugeot 405 GL Estate up for grabs. Its a very early estate, possibly the earliest around (I think they only came out late 89, and this one is Jan 90). It's a lovely car, a 1.6 petrol with a Weber carb and very simple, honest spec all round. Just under 70k. Very clean bodywork and interior, engine spot on with good compression. It's just had a new set of breather hoses, and a new clutch last year. Its also had a new starter motor, dizzy, coil, leads and plugs. It wears a set of 307 alloys which look rather smart (if a bit early noughties).
The bad news...brakes. It failed the MoT on the rears as one cylinder is seized. Its also got a bit of brake pipe corrosion, and the front discs are nearly done.
If I had a driveway and wasn't getting married in 3 months I would crack on, but with a heavy heart, I am offering up for free to a competent home mechanic with time and space. I really don't think it would cost much in parts, but I just don't have the space or particularly the time. The car is in Bedford and will need recovering.
If anyone is interested, reply here or PM me - as I said, free to an enthusiast!
