Hi
is there an alternative commonly available cheaper alternator that can be fitted to an XL3S engine instead of the sev-marchall?

Paris Rhone make an alternator for your 304,its listed in the 304 parts book. Its exactly the same unit so I suspect it will be around the same price,your mate Dean Hunter will tell you.
Mind you you could get yours rebuilt by a specialist. I cant recommend anyone,my man has long retired.
Don`t ask me about your heater fan,I haven't a clue.

Hi
Thanks for replying. I've got a parasitic drain on the battery so I need to investigate it and first thought was the alternator. It looks as if it's Beeb soaked from a split top hose so I'll take it off and see if I can get it rebuil.
