Restoration of a 1955 Peugeot 203 - Sri Lanka

Hi Everyone, 

A couple of months ago, the opportunity to own a Peugeot 203 presented itself over here in sunny Sri Lanka. Since then I have been using this car quite regularly. The car itself is not perfect but it serves its purpose. On the surface it looks nice, but looks can be deceiving. Given the age of the car, it came as no surprise to find a far bit of corrosion. So yesterday, after much deliberation I decided to start my restoration of this old beauty and give her a new lease of life. My goal is to address all the rust and all the bad repairs that were done to this car. To that end, I thought it would be nice to document the entire process and get feedback from fellow 203 owners. I have attached some photos of how the car looked before and how it looks now. Hope you enjoy the photos and please feel free to offer your thoughts and advise

Hi joeldilan and welcome to this forum. I`ve had the pleasure of visiting your lovely country, I was amazed to see many old Peugeots. Looks as if you have a big job on your hands, best of luck. Those old 203`s were very solid cars, so hopefully the corrosion can easily be repaired. You may find spare parts very difficult to obtain. If so may I suggest two company`s for you. www.serie04.com/nl/203-203 in France and a good friend of mine, Dean Hunter, in the UK www.peugeotparts.co.uk. I`ve used both many times with good service. Naturally it will be expensive to ship parts to Sri Lanka, may be you have a sauce closer to home??
