Can anyone offer any practical advice on how to remove the ignition barrel form a 1972 304 convertible? I’ve loosened the steering column and removed the plastic casing from it. I’ve removed a thin metal bar from the lock barrel and there appears to be a push in pin (?) underneath the lock barrel which moves a little but still can’t get the barrel out. Are any special tools required? Any help would be appreciated as getting very frustrated and missing driving my Pug.

There is also a very small bolt to remove, 7mm or 8mm spanner. Then turn the ignition key to the garage position ( or there about? many many years since I`ve done it ) and press that pin with anything that will fit. As you turn the ignition key you will notice the pin going "springy". You need three hands, as you will need to lever the ignition barrel out of the housing as you are doing all that.
