Driving home tonight when smoke appeared through the dash. When I got out alot more smoke was coming from under the bonnet . I disconnected the battery and inspected further. The wiring loom was smoking heavily from where it exits the bottom of the radiator. I have recently replaced a couple of specific wires as some appliances stopped working. I guess the old broken wires (still in the loom) must have been touching the chasis. The car is an M reg 306 1900cc diesel (normally aspirated). I guess I will have to replce the entire loom now ? and was wondering if anybody had any ideas where to get hold of one cheap or how much I should expect to pay? Would be really helpful in any one had any tips on replacing or wiring diagrams. Thanks for your help!
