hi there not a peugeot owner, but I do like the cars immensely, drove a 505 estate for a year and was very impressed. I run a volvo 760 gle estate with prv v6. I know the peugeot version of this engine as a far better repu tation than the volvo version of it. my main reason for posting is the engine lurking in my volvo has cam problems ie oil starvation. I wonder if anyone in the club as a peugeot version of the engine that might have the potiential for being transplanted in to the volvo?

There are various versions of the V6 PRV, so you'll need to specify which one you have: 2664cc with carburators 2664cc with K-Jetronic injection (same bloc as carb version) 2849cc with K-Jetronic injection
and I think one of the 3.0l V6 versions of the 605/XM was also PRV.
The 2.7l versions was fitted to the 504CC, the 604, the R30, the R25 and the Renault Alpine. The 2.8l version was fitted to late 604, the 505 and late R25.
The 3.0l would have been fitted to 605/XM and possibly Safrane.
You wouldn' be able to swap the entire engine straight away. For example, I know that for the early Renault 25 V6 injection (using the 144bhp 2664cc engine), the base of the engine is different than that fitted to 504s/604s.
This being said, once you've established the type of PRV engine you have, look out for a Peugeot / Citroen / Renault car that had the same engine and you should be able to fit at least the engine bloc.
Good luck.
