Due to a slight shortage of room under the bonnet, I need to lose the original air filter. ('87 gti)
Can anyone suggest a good suitable alternative please.
Many thanks, Mike.

Well not sure what the GTi engine air intake was to begin with, was the long canister sat to the left of the engine above the manifolds? I think you'll have to look for an aftermarket "boy racer" filter, like K&N, but you might be able to pipe in a smaller one from something like a 106. Might be a case of simply walking around the brakers yard and seeing whats in what.
My 504 diesel has a 3 pully crank, although I think the engine started life in a 604. Dont know if the diesel pullys will fit though. Maybe a late Citroen CX could donate one?
