The cylinder head on the ZS has only done about 6000 miles from new (new valves etc too!) The last lrp fuel in the area has just vanished so it's unleaded or bust. Should I be adding anything until the valves/head are a bit older?

I understand that only the valve seats are at risk if at all (never heard of a car that has suffered damage from unleaded use). As far as I'm concerned, the level of lead in leaded fuel was so marginal anyway that I consider there is no risk in using unleaded fuel straight away. I'd just use the fuel with the octane level that is closer to the level sought initially. I've read of bad experiences with additives, so never used them in my old Peugeot cars, I kept to Unleaded 95 or 98.
Was your cylinder head rebuilt with parts that officially support unleaded?

No The parts were all new but old stock as it were, left over at Peugeots rally team workshop from the Samba days of the mid 80's so leaded fuel all the way.
I have been filling up with super unleaded which is 98 RON so hpefully that should be OK

For the sake of a couple of quid buy a bottle of Castrol Valve Master (for 98) or Valve Master Plus (for 95). Take a look at club.triumph.org.uk/links/leadfree.html Becuase your 104 is a sporting car frequently using maximum revs and extreme heat you need some !!

Just run it on good ol' unleaded like l do all my fleet. l have not had a single problem with unleaded gas. l don't even use that castrol stuff anymore. Though you might want to add stuff when you go thrashing it if your worried.
