I dont really want to sound stupid but i have an 04 206 s and i can not get the gear knob off can anyone offer some advice?

hi kirsty, it just pulls off but they are very very tight! I find it's best to give it a good sharp yank rather than constant pressure, good luck!

make sure the leather gaitor is off as this will beleive it or not hold them down, then give it a little persuasion with a hammer from the bottom

Hi Kirsty, Try warming it with a hair dryer. Not too hot or you will melt the plastic. On older Peugeots the metal gear stick has serrations which grip the soft material inside the knob. I assume yours is similar, in which case turning it as you pull will loosen it. Adhesives are increasingly used in modern cars which is why application of heat can help soften the grip.
