Any reason other than corrosion that I can't get the ducellier dizzy out of an XL3 engine? I've lined up the timing marks and removed the bolt and screw washer I can find.

It will not shift.

Before I apply penetrating oil and force, am I missing something obvious?

its a 1973 saloon (base model, not S)
