I am experiencing a grinding/rubbing noise at the front of my car that only ever occurs after long journeys of an hour plus. The noise was so bad the other day we phoned the AA who came out to us and was unable to find anything (typical) but towed us to a garage who once again was unable to find anything wrong.

Does anyone esle have this problem or any suggestions would be most grateful. The culprit is an M reg 306 1.4.

If some of the grease has leaked out, the bearings inside overheat on long journeys or at high speed.
