Hi there.
I am having some probs with my 106 1.1i single point p reg '96. 80,000 miles.
I have had a problem with a dead spot in the revs for some time. Then shortly before xmas i had a new clutch put in.
All seemed to be the same and then my fuel consumption went through the roof. I was getting the occasional backfire and delay in acceleration, esspecially under load at low revs.
It turned out that my lambda sensor wasnt working. So i replaced it and the problem seemed to get better, then it came back again.
So i replaced my plugs and leads. Same story, got better, then got worse AGAIN!!! (Although the fuel situation is getting better each time)
I have since replaced the ignition coil as well. Same problem.
On xmas eve, by back box rotted and fell off on my way home from work.
This seemed to make it run better but emphasised the low rev problem!!
I have now fitted a 3inch performance back box, all new cat and piping and an induction kit.
However, it runs ok when cold but runs sweet at top end!!
I have also changed the oil and filters a week ago to and still the problems there.
I have been pulling my hair out over this and keep spending money which maybe for no reason!!
I refuse to pay for a dyno test on a 1.1i, its just not worth the money.
Does anyone have any ideas??? PLEASE HELP!!!
