could be the ideal car to finally get to play with a triple choke sidedraught... ;D It would be nice and easy to strip out anyway! Cage would probably have a dramatic effect on the weight of the car! ;D ;D ;D

My first car was a Morris 8, series "E", 4 door, 1947 model, registration JYW 693. Weighed in at nearly 1 ton (Old English) with an 8 horsepower side valve engine. No starter, used handle, no washers, carried bottle of water under dashboard and stuck hand out of window, no heater and semaphore indicators which stuck out when it poured with rain!
One good thing that would be useful today was a rollerblind in the rear window that I could pull up by means of an ivory ring above my head that blocked out main beam drivers.
The dip arrangement was such that the nearside lamp swivelled (Solenoid) towards the curb and the off side light switched off!
No sound insulation which meant that you could hear everything that was going on under the bonnet and in the gearbox. The floorboards were literally pieces of floorboard.
Lousy acceleration 0-50 in about 10 minutes, crash gearbox on 1st, 2nd, 3rd, synchromesh on 4th! Wasn't meant to be like that but it was 17 years old when I gained ownership on my 17th. birthday. Cannot remember the mileage but I think it was high for the engine.
Eventually blew up, literally, on the M2 near Rochester when a valve head sheared off and the piston smashed it up through the cylinder head. First I knew was when the bonnet gained a new hole with a crown like outline where the piece came through.
Great fun, helped me through college, once had 12 people inside on a 100 mile round trip!
Fond memories!!!

My first car was a N reg Escort 1.3 CVH. Was a nice car until I wrecked it whilst being silly and nearly lost my license. My second car was a knackered old 1989 1.8 Scirocco Scala injection that I bought at auction for 50 quid. I had great plans for that car but unfortunately it used too much petrol and it was a bit buggered so I ended up scrapping it. Was fast though, and had a hole in the exhaust so sounded cool! My THIRD car was a Vauxhall Cavalier 1.7TD! Went all over the place in that thing, covered about 10,000 miles in the 7 months I owned it and used to run it on 100% vegetale oil! Unfortunately it developed an exhaust leak, dodgy brakes, dodgy steering, and a broken clutch cable, so I got rid of it. And now I've got the 205 which I'm fixing up for her MOT

This might be a long list
First car was the 1924 Chevrolet which I restored from bits while still at school.
First actual drivable car a very tired 1967 404
Then...
1974 504 (NZ assembled) unreliable heap of c**p
1976 504 (French assembled) much better
1979 305SR
1954 203A Great car. My father now ownes it
1970 404 Familiale Was in the shed with the 203 so bought them both. Sold it for a huge profit not long after
1929 Chevrolet sports roadster another unreilable piece of....
1967 404 cabriolet RHD fuel injected. Had 10 years of fun with it
1987 Opel Manta GTE Truely awful!!! Slow, unreliable ...
1930 Durant 614 Been sitting in dad's shed for years. A long term project. Still have it
1987 Citroen BX19GT Magnificent to drive, when it was running properly - which wasn't a regular occurance
1955 203C Bought to wreck, but was too good, so restored it. Made a few modification to the engine, and used for touringand historic racing. Sold last year after ten years of fun again
1987 309GTI Hot cam and chip. Amazing car. Loved it
1984 505 GTi Cheap but reliable
1975 504Ti rally car replica. Used it a couple of times and sold it
1966 404 coupe Genuine RHD Another project, sold a few moths ago to finance the latest toy
1993 405GR Nice car but too gutless
Currently:-
1930 Durant 614 sport coupe Imported from the USA. Good simple reliable toy
1995 405 MI16 Love it!!
1970 404 pickup. Saved it from the rubbish dump. In regular use
1915 type 153A The current project, and one of the few pre 1920's Peugeots in NZ
and on permant loan a 1970 404 sedan. A tired example of an over-rated car.
