Weber conversion sounds expensive, and although I'm really tempted to invest all of the time (and money!) to get the whole car back up to scratch I'm also thinking that it would be a better use of my time to get something a little more reliable!
I don't currently have any pics of my car other than those I took when I got it, and they don't really do it justice at all. As soon as we get a sunny stretch and I find my camera I'll grab some for you...

l own the other ZS in ther club. Been using it this week to get me to work while the Volkswagen is off the road. So missed it. The awful heater, the nasty cold running, the turning circle, the fun fun fun. Sadly l had to scrap my £50 104 S *the 5 door* a few months back for the £100 VW Golf. It got to unreliable sadly as l had hoped to save it and turn it into a show stopper as l loved its sh**e council estate Notting Hill LONDON look. So there goes another 104 Still the ZS will never leave my side. If anything....l would sell the Ti to fund my whatever problems l have instead of the coupe ZS. ZS.......once you have one........you will never sell it!

Oh...and taking the ZS to work this week while the Golf has been out of action has been fun...well sort off. l can't believe l ran this thing as my everydayer for 5 years!!!!!!! It's so flawed but so RETRO COOL as a runner. The awful thing is that while running it and keeping it cool.........with a popped bonnet while the heater is on it sucks up all the engine fumes and blows them into the passenger comp....l smelt of eu de toilet *ZS* all day. Rather a nice scent l must tell you.

Yeah, needless to say I replaced the anti-roll bar bushes (which were completely shot) after that... Do you have a limited slip diff on your car 104ZS? I think that's one of my car's biggest failings at the moment (that and the fact it's held together by faith and goodwill). ;-)

No. I wish!! It's the big weakness in mine too now. On tight bends it's so short and stiff that it lifts too much weight off the outside tyre and spins all the power away!
LSD's seem to be going for around 1000 euro's on the french samba site, which is a lot of money. If I had the cash I'd take the car off the road and do it properly with a 1298cc motor, wide arch and track etc but those are the really expensive bits as you need special longer track rods and stuff. One day! There are plenty of lovely cars on the french site for insiration!

Le Brat. How up setting is that picture of you S cornering hard for me. Despite it not looking so bad in Andrews pictures, my S was a little more of a rot box than l care to mention to my passengers as more flakes of rust fell on the floor from rapidly dissolving door posts.
Enjoy the silver dream machine.

Andrew
Is that a picture of your ZS after you spinning? Nice!!!!!
Oh Le Brat, l recomend you pop the bonnet if you are going to run it fast as it really does help with the cooling. Just undo the rear most bolts on the hinge and then bend the bonnet down ansd then tighten the bolts back up.

Well if come March you still yearn for a 104 fix I'd be more than happy to sell her to you for £verycheap... As far as I know she's got very little structural rust, as she was owned by the stereotypical little ol' lady for the first 15 years of her life, who kept her in a garage and used her purely to do the weekly shop. I still have all the original MOT certificates - for example, between 19/11/1999 and 11/11/2000 she covered a whole 298 miles

Would be very intrested but a replacement cars hangs in the balance of how well the Golf behaves....and so far it is 100% excellent apart from a clutch cable.

Sweet. I think I prefer the small rear light versions! Here's one of my old ones prior to a trip to the scrapper - DON'T ASK

You crim ! that didn't look too crusty! The ebay silver one looks like either a ZL or ZR. ZL = 8 and ZR =5. A ZR passed through ebay a few months back making quite a bit of cash.
